A ready method of calculating the specific gravity corresponding to the degrees of this areometer, sufficiently correct for common purposes, will be found in No. 66; the table given in No. 65 is made on that principle, and based on 1000 as the unit representing water, instead of 1.

A simple method for converting the degrees of this areometer into specific gravity, applicable in cases where great accuracy is not required, is given in No. 66.
