Galium asprellum. Madder Family. June - Aug.

A plant 2 - 4 feet tall. Found in rich, moist ground. Eastern half of United States and Canada.

White, tiny, in airy clusters. Flower stems 2 - 3 times forked.

Leaves

In whorls of 6 on main stems, prickly-rough on edge and rib. Plant stems rough backwards with hooked prickles.
