A. glutinosa: tree; leaves roundish, wedge-shaped, obtuse, wavy, serrated, glutinous, deciduous; catkins 2-3 together in loose terminal clusters; the males long, pendent, the females ovate or oblong, and in fruit somewhat resembling miniature fir-cones. - River-sides and other wet places. Fl. March.
