P. vulgaris: annual; stem 6-12 inches high, leafy, much branched, downy; leaves lanceolate, wavy, narrow at the base and somewhat clasping; heads small, lateral and terminal, hemispherical, with very short rays; florets yellow. - Moist sanely heaths. Fl. August, September.
