B. umbellatus: aquatic; leaves long, erect, triangular; flower-stem leafless, 2-4 feet high, rush-like, bearing a large umbel of showy, rose-coloured flowers, the perianth an inch across, of six ovate, spreading segments. - Watery ditches and sides of rivers. - Fl. June, July.
