T. Scorodonia: stems erect, hairy, 1 foot high, slightly branched, almost woody at the base; leaves ovate or lanceolate, coarsely toothed, wrinkled, downy; flowers of a pale yellow, in pairs, forming terminal and axillary one-sided racemes. - Wood Sage. - Woods and hedges. Fl. July, August.
