If you go to the beach in the summer, collect small sea shells and make place cards for parties. All you will need is some stiff white paper, glue, and your shells. Linseed oil will help to polish the sea shells.

Glue the shells in pairs to make butterfly wings, and with a pencil draw the head and the two little horns.

When you are at the beach, look for seaweed floating in the water. It is like a sott fern while it is in the water; but when you take it out and let it dry, it will lose its softness and not be as pretty.

If you would like to make a scrapbook of seaweed, and have the collection look as the plants do in the water, just dip your paper into the water, slide it under the seaweed, and lift it out. You will need no paste for it will stick as it dries: but do not move it after you take it from the water.
