This is an agreeable outdoor amusement. A ring which turns is placed in the centre of the lawn, and each player has one ball and a cue. They commence by bowling the balls as near the ring as possible, and the nearest ball plays first. The object is to throw the ball with the cue (which is shaped something like a ladle or spoon) through the ring. Each time this is successfully done, the player scores I, and continues playing until he misses; and then the next player goes on. It is played with sides, like croquet.
